Lemon Loaf – Chec cu glazura de lamaie

Nu vreau sa dezvalui cata lamaie as fi in stare sa mananc ,mai ales sub forma de desert. Si maruntica mea cea mica imi calca pe urme si linge lamaile. Nu cred ca as fi vreodata in stare sa refuz un desert cu lamaie! Secretul acestui chec e glazura.
1 cup = 1 cana de 200 ml
Ingrediente:
200 g  faina
175 g  zahar
3 lingurite praf de copt
1/4 lingurita sare
coaja de la o lamaie,rasa
150 ml lapte
1 ou batut
75 g  unt sau margarina topita
Glazura
1/4 cup zahar
sucul proaspat stors de la o lamaie
Se amesteca faina,zaharul,praful de copt,sarea si coaja de lamaie rasa.
Se adauga laptele,oul si margarina.
Se toarna compozitia in forma de chec si se da la cuptorul preincalzit cam 30-35 de minute.
Cand e aproape gata,se pune zaharul ptr glazura si sucul de lamaie intr-o craticioara.
Se tine pe foc pana se topeste zaharul.
Se scoate checul si se fac gauri din loc in loc cu o scobitoare.
Se toarna glazura peste chec,cat e cald.
I’m pretty sure it’s another Zaar recipe and I don’t know ( yet) who it belongs to…but it’s so delicious. Of course,I’ll say that since I eat anything with lemon…the glaze is what makes this loaf special. Trust me,it’s good…that’s why I couldn’t snap all the loaf,it didn’t make it till picture time.
Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
grated lemon rind from one lemon
3/4 cup milk
1 egg (slightly beaten)
1/3 cup melted margarine
Glaze
1/4 cup sugar
1 lemon, juice of

Mix together the flour,sugar,baking powder,salt and lemon rind in a large bowl.
Add in milk,  beaten egg and margarine and mix.
Pour into prepared loaf pan and bake in preheated oven at 375 for 30-35 minutes.
Simmer glaze in saucepan for a few minutes to dissolve sugar.
While loaf is still warm put on dish and poke some holes on top with toothpick. Pour glaze over loaf and enjoy.
